The process kicks off with the printing of Diatecx 2512 wallpaper, a 195 g/m² nonwoven substrate specially developed for solvent, UV, latex and eco-solvent inks. Due to its smooth surface, FSC® certification and absence of PVC, it is perfect for interior design applications that require high visual quality and sustainability.
Printing is done through the Canon Colorado, a roll-to-roll printer that ensures vibrant colors and high accuracy.
Invisible cutting with Flexa’s Katana
Once printed, the web switches to Katana, the latest generation of XY automatic cutter by Flexa. Its patented diagonal cutting system makes it possible to eliminate the unsightly white lines that often appear at the junction points between webs, especially on dark backgrounds.
Thanks to the dual automatic vertical alignment sensor with 0.05 mm accuracy and digital longitudinal knives, each band is cut with millimeter accuracy, greatly improving the end result and reducing installation time.
Efficient rewinding with UD 170
The cut strips are then rewound using the UD 170 system, designed by Flexa to handle jumbo reels up to 400 kg. This unit can be used for both in-feed (to feed the printer) and out-feed (to rewind the printed material), fitting perfectly with the most demanding production flows.
Equipped with an intuitive touch screen display, the UD 170 enables precise control of working parameters, improving productivity and minimizing waste.
